Devon Coastal Marathon

A coastal 'marathon' of 28.5 miles. The first half is right along the cliffs with absolutely stunning scenery - if you dare look down! It's quite hilly with 3500' of elevation gain, most of which I walked, and 3500' of descent - I walked down the last tarmac hill as my right shin was getting really painful for some reason.

Oh and the wind was vicious, bordering on gale force in exposed parts and the rain was with us for the last 3 hours. The last 2/3 miles were a long, hard (but mercifully flat) slog against the wind and lashing rain. All adds to the experience!

All in all a great day, but I almost bit off more than I could chew with this one. I just hope my shin settles down as otherwise I feel fine.
